Experience the breathtaking 5-day Salkantay Trek, one of Peru’s most rewarding alternative routes to Machu Picchu. This spectacular journey takes you from the high Andean mountains through dramatic landscapes, crossing the challenging 15,091 ft Apacheta Pass with stunning views of the snow-capped Salkantay and Humantay peaks. Along the way, you'll visit the stunning turquoise waters of Humantay Lake, soak in natural hot springs, hike through lush semi-tropical cloud forest filled with wild orchids and giant hummingbirds, and pass through coffee plantations before reaching the ancient ruins of Llactapata with your first breathtaking glimpse of Machu Picchu in the distance. The trek culminates on Day 5 with an unforgettable guided visit to the iconic citadel of Machu Picchu itself.
