Adios Adventure gave us a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide Vidal was great. He was thorough in explaining everything and more importantly, made sure to give us snack breaks in our 10 mile hike. He made sure everyone knew what everything was and gave us tips for hiking along the way. At the end of the hike, it felt like we came out with a life long friend. If you have a chance to go to Machu Pichu, Adios Adventure would be the company to do it with.

We had the most amazing experience with Adios Adventure company! My husband normally plans our trips but due to the complexity and logistics of trains/trails and reservations at MIL we decided to work with Adios. It was so nice to have everything planned for us so we could relax and enjoy the culture, food, people, trails and sites. Our guide, Vidal, was incredible. His knowledge of the Incan people and history, Cusco and local towns, local flora and vegetation, and of course the trails was so impressive. He knew how to engage our teenagers and when to give the tired parents breaks. The hotels picked were top notch. We had a traditional pachamanca meal that he arranged with a beautiful Quechuan family that we will never forget. We also did a day trip through Adios to the Maras salt fields and local textile town of Moray - our guide Hubert was equally knowledgeable and fantastic! There is so much more but bottom line we are so glad we worked with Adios and would give our highest recommendation!

Adios Adventure Travel delivered the best vacation ever for our family. We selected them because we needed semi-custom tour and they planned it perfectly for us. Jacquie was amazing to help me planning with her deep knowledge and experience of Peru, and Vidal executed in impeccable way with his local touch and friendliness. Our local guide, Hubert as well as the drivers we met were all wonderful. I also appreciated that Vidal and Hubert were very good at engaging our teenage children. They are very attentive, very prompt with communication and thoughtful group of people. We are already thinking about Galapagos tour with Adios in coming years.

We (our family of 5 with 3 boys 17-22yrs old) spent 12 days in Peru and left it all to Adios to plan. Vidal was very communicative on our needs and requests. Manuel was our tour guide for most of the trip. What an amazing, gracious, intelligent, fun person and guide. Our porters on the Inca Trail were super humans. Mario our cook was exceptional. I highly recommend traveling to Peru and especially the Inca Trail with Adios.

An Epic Adventure of a Lifetime June – July 2025 Through my local hiking group in the Mid-Atlantic, I was able to combine three trips into one magical three-week adventure vacation, accompanied by old and new friends. We visited Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, the Galapagos Islands, and the Amazon Rainforest. I was one of only two participants who chose to complete all three segments, and I’m glad I did. Each was an adventure of its own and entirely different from the others. The support provided by local guides and drivers was exceptional, and we were privileged to be accompanied on the first two segments by Jacquie Whitt, owner/partner and adventurer extraordinaire of Adios Adventure Tours. Having private tour guides to handle all the entry tickets and transportation in Peru and Ecuador helped reduce hassles and bottlenecks. In Peru, we could dine anywhere, and our lovely tour guide was not only key to choosing restaurants, but also assisted with reading menus and explaining our sometimes quirky dietary preferences to the wait staff. The challenges of preparing for these three complicated trips were many, and Adios provided detailed packing lists and information for preparation, along with many articles to aid in our understanding of what we were undertaking. I feel so lucky to have been able to do this trip with friends, and the level of support we received was fantastic! In Peru, nothing I had read or watched prepared me for the unimaginable sophistication of the Inca Empire nor the spiritual impact of being at Machu Picchu. The late afternoon light at Machu Picchu was glorious! In the Galapagos Islands, I was able to snorkel in the middle of six giant sea tortoises and later watch Blue-Footed Boobies in their mating rituals. One of my hotel rooms faced the ocean and had sliding doors to a deck that had two steps down to a pristine beach, and we slept to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. In the Amazon Rainforest segment, I was awed by the biodiversity, vastness, and the towering canopy formed by its giant trees. The guides were experts in spotting and identifying all manner of wildlife, and for me, the highlights were seeing several sloths hanging from high tree branches, watching pink dolphins frolic in the river, and going on a guided nighttime hike in the jungle. Throughout the trips, our accommodations varied from good to extraordinary, and most of the hotels were small and locally run. Sometimes we had trouble with electrical outlets and internet connection, but I believe that was just part of travelling in remote areas in South America. We also ate very well, and we were usually able to choose between seafood, chicken, meat, and vegetarian dinners. There was always a nice choice of breakfast foods to choose from. Some of the meals were memorably wonderful and delicious. In both cases, the food and accommodations exceeded my expectations. We were also offered the opportunity to sample things I had never seen before. In each segment, we were introduced to local families who prepared amazing home-cooked meals representing local delicacies: in the Machu Picchu segment, we drove up into the mountains near Pisac and dined with a Quechua family. One of the dishes offered was guinea pig – a Peruvian delicacy! In the Galapagos Islands, we dined with a local fisherman’s family and were treated to fresh ceviche made by the mother with fish that had been caught that afternoon by the father. In the Amazon Rainforest, we dined at a jungle Women’s Cooperative where we were treated to demonstrations of blow darts, crafts, and local dishes. One of the memorable dishes was grilled palm weevil larvae, which is the major source of protein for many indigenous communities in the Amazon. Due to limitations on time and space, I can only comment on a few highlights of this epic trip. Every day was filled with new adventures, learning, and activities. Many thanks to Adios Adventure Travel for shepherding us through this memorable adventure.

Your entire operation was A+, Outstanding from A to Z! Of more than 40 years of traveling, I have not met a better travel agency, not even close. Your communication was fantastic – professional, prompt, concise and complete. I was awed by the level of details you provided in the spreadsheet you created, even putting all the details of flights and hotels that you were not responsible for.

Creating a WhatsApp group a couple of days before the start of the tour added to the already having the peace of mind. Vidal kept us posted for the name of our next driver, and guide at each state. And kudos to your training, each person ensured that we were handed off to the next person/details before leaving. We were very pleasantly surprised to see Vidal himself accompanying us for our 2-hour trip from the airport to the train station. Even more surprised with his deep knowledge and passion for the culture, history and places.

Can’t tell you how many people whom have whole-hearted recommended your services. Thank you!

We just returned from our 2 week trek through South America - Peru (Machu Picchu) and Ecuador (Galapagos Islands) and 100% recommend Adios Adventure Travel!! We looked at 4 different travel groups and Adios had the best itinerary AND the best value for what we were looking for. What makes a trip like this so special is the guides and Adios Adventure Travel has the BEST guides. We had private guides/cars/transportation for most of the trip and really got to know the people and the places we visited. One of our guides was the granddaughter of the initial inhabitants of the island we were on so her stories came directly from him - so special. All guides are English speaking and absolutely fantastic in their knowledge and also just a ton of fun to be around. You can trust the team at Adios Adventure Travel to build you the perfect trip - I'm so glad we went with their expertise, recommendations and amazing guides.

The team at Adios exceeded my expectations. I reached out to Jacquie for suggestions on touring Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley and Cusco based on her blogs on Adios website and decided to take the plunge based on her prompt responses. Both Vidal and Jacquie helped to craft my customized tour with deep dive into archaeology (4 days at MP + 5 days in Sacred Valley). The highlight of their service were the two guides - Manuel and Illich. Both patiently answered all my questions (I had my own research notes) as we explored each archeological site. Illich in particular is a master of removing hurdles, e.g getting me ahead of other customers in the long line for Route 3 in MP and just about getting through the gate before the 'tolerance deadline' for the ticket expired, hiding my bulky duffel bag in the tiny IncaRail carriage and many more. Manuel's overall knowledge of the archeological sites was impressive and some of the finer details that he pointed out went well beyond my research notes. We met as customer/guides and parted as friends :) Shoutout to the driver Franco as well for expertly navigating traffic snarls in and around Cusco and keeping me on schedule. Needless to say, I will definitely book with Adios if I find myself contemplating Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley again.

The team at Adios Adventures were spectacular in all aspects of making our dream vacation to Peru a reality. From planning the tour itinerary, securing unique and charming hotel accommodations, arranging private guides and transport in Arequipa, Cusco, Machu Picchu, and the Sacred Valley. We can’t sing their praises enough! Not only were they terrific to work with but the cost was quite reasonable compared to any of the “package tours” and we experienced so much more than any package tour we’ve ever taken. If you want to see Peru and really understand its beauty, mystery, and amazing sites you can’t do better than Vidal and his team at Adios Adventures!

Just returned from an excellent Peruvian adventure arranged through Adios Adventures! The level of comfort and service of the lodgings provided in Cusco, Ollyentatombo and Aqua Calliente was outstanding - clean, quiet and reasonably priced. I was very impressed with Vidal, our guide, and his knowledge of the Sacred Valley, Machu Pichu and all the surrounding areas and attractions. Especially during our 3-hour/13 km hike on the Inca trail to Wińanywaya and Intipunku (Sun Gate). His trail knowledge set a pace that was within my physical ability to enjoy fantastic, breathtaking views. Vidal has good knowledge of English, and knew most of the rangers, guides and porters on the trail. Vidal also ensured drivers were always available and that we had all the right tickets to all the right attractions. Out Peru trip was a milestone birthday trip for my wife, and I give props to Adios Adventures for making her birthday trip a memorable experience. The Pre-departure info provided was a great help, recommending whabring along. I definitely recommend them, and look forward to using their services again for our next trip to Chile & Ecuador!! ((Especially if we can Vidal as our guide!)). Thanks to Heidi as well for ensuring all the ‘I’ were dotted & the ‘t’ were crossed!! 5-stars all the way!! Mikey G

My family of four had an incredible visit to Machu Picchu thanks to Adios Adventure Travel. The tour operator was generous in providing advice and information prior to the journey, even though we were purchasing only a guide through the company. (I asked many, many questions and always received a prompt, thoughtful reply.) Adios Adventure Travel was responsive throughout our conversations. The guide arranged for us - Sergio - was absolutely terrific: personable, knowledgeable and a great sense of humor! We had planned to climb Machu Picchu mountain as part of the trip. Unfortunately this route was closed the night before. Sergio pivoted admirably and provided a tour that was informative and enjoyable. We came away with memories of a lifetime. I highly recommend!

Amazing experience, couldn’t ask for anything better. A friend and I did a 2 day tour of the sacred valley and Machu Picchu. Our guide, Vidal, was amazing. So much information about the sites we were seeing and current life in this area of Peru. We enjoyed learning and just spending time talking with him.
The process of booking the tour was easy, I talked directly with the Jaquie, who is the contact in the United States, discussed our time frame, what we wanted to see and she put an itinerary together for us. There was excellent communication before and during the trip. Any questions I had were answered and everything was so easy from pick up to drop off. Even when we weren’t with Vidal we could easily contact him and he made sure we were always in the right place at the right time. The drivers were also excellent and I appreciate their time and attention.
I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to go back to Peru. If I do I’d love to do a longer trip with Adios Adventure Travel. Maybe a 3-4 day tour and hike.

My fiancé and I spent 2 weeks in Peru! We booked 10 days of activities in Tambopata and Cusco with Adios, we had a wonderful experience! Our guide was knowledgeable, attentive and helpful throughout our journey! Despite the last min change to our Inca trail hike closure, the guide was able to find other breathtaking hiking trails for us to explore. We would take another trip with Adios again in the future!

Adios Adventure was really helpful in figuring out all of the reservations for Machu Picchu. They were very responsive to questions and very clear (if you are dealing with the reservations of getting the right Circuit, getting various tickets they can be of enormous help). They also have a lot of helpful general info about Peru. We had Cesar as a guide for Machu Picchu and he was terrific, knowledgeable, warm and incredibly helpful. Can't recommend them more highly -- they were awesome!

The Adios Adventure Travel team will help curate and execute your bucket list vision to Cusco and the Sacred Valley! From the most up to date information about the MP circuits on the website to genuine and interesting guides, Adios is above and beyond. Our Peru pod (my sister, my boyfriend and I) were so grateful to have Vidal as our Sacred Valley guide especially on the Inca trail to and through Machu Picchu. Through guided conversations we learned so much about the culture, history and natural wonders of the area. Vidal was also an excellent motivator on the trail with it's many steps ensuring breaks and a good pace! Our trip with Angela to Palccoyo was nothing less than amazing. Her knowledge and connection to the mountains is inspiring. Thank you to Jacquie and Heather for all the good info on the website (packing lists, bathroom info, climate, culture and much much more) as well as your organization and communication. I look forward to another Adios Adventure in the future!

Adios Adventure Travel did an outstanding job of developing and facilitating a tour of Machu Picchu for us from our cruise ship. I requested several changes to the original tour plan and Adios made them all happen. I asked to fly from the port prior to Lima (Trujillo) so we could have an extra day to ensure our return to Lima before our sailing. I requested that we stay overnight in Aguas Calientes to avoid an extended stay at 11,000+ feet in Cusco. I also requested a tour of the Sacred Valley on our third day while transferring to Cusco for our evening flight to Lima. Heather Corona, the Adios representative, made it all happen. Heather was always pleasant and returned every call immediately. Thank you, Heather! Our in-country point of contact, Vidal, was always available and helpful. Our in-country guide, Angela, made this the most enjoyable and informative tour we have ever taken. I can’t say enough about how great Angela made our trip. As a native Incan, she related the true Incan culture and spirit. Her understanding and spirit got 4 over-70 tourists with a combined 4 knee surgeries and 2 back surgeries through the most difficult loop (2) at Machu Picchu. A rare feat for her as well as us. Angela took us to the most wonderful restaurant in Aguas Calientes where everyone raved about their meal. She made our trip through the Sacred Valley memorable and informative. Thank you, Angela! Our whole tour went off without a glitch. I highly recommend Adios Adventure Travel.

We visited Machu Picchu in April this year. Heather from Adios adventures was excellent with advice prior to us leaving the UK to ensure we got the tickets we wanted and arranged for a guide to spend the day with us. Angela (our guide) met us at our hotel in the village and was with us the whole time visitng the site. Her knowledge was excellent and she explained everything to us perfectly. Angela was also friendly and easy to talk to which is important when spending about 6 hours with someone. I'd highly recommend Adios Adventrue Travel. Just make sure you buy the bus tickets from village to site the day before. Also the vistadome train from Ollantaytambo is amazing!!

My original decision to use Adios Adventure Travel was based on how informative and helpful their website is but I realized as I started working with them that a good website was just the start of a long list why Adios is amazing. While still in the planning stages Heather was responsive, helpful and a great communicator. The logistics getting from Lima to Machu Picchu (MaPi) are complicated and Heather helped me feel confident that I had chosen the right schedule. As a fellow photographer she was instrumental in helping me decide what time to visit MaPi would be to get the best photos and she did not steer me wrong. She went above and beyond in so many ways. I also worked a little with Vidal, one of the owners. He was also fast to respond and helped connect us with our tour guide once we reached Aguas Calientes. There was not one time through the handoff that I felt unsure of what our next steps were. I cannot praise our guide Angela enough. We could not have been matched with a better tour guide and human being! We enjoyed spending our two days with her. She is a wonderful person and we loved all her stories, information and insights into life in Peru and MaPi. My husband and I get "married" in every country we visit (Peru makes 5) and Angela handled our impromptu "ceremony" like a champ. She picked the perfect spot and shared from her heart. Her beautiful words incorporated Peruvian tradition and a blessing on our love that it would have the eternalness of Machu Picchu. It was a moment better than any scripted movie! They had our backs every step, flight, car ride, train trip and bus ticket along the way. If we ever find another opportunity to work with Adios Adventure Travel again you can be sure we wouldn't even consider another travel team.

We knew we were in great hands with Adios travel before we even left for our trip. They were very thorough and we had great communication with phone calls and emails and was given an exact and detailed itinerary.
We spent four amazing days with our guide Angela in the Machu Picchu area. We cannot say enough about Angela, who was knowledgeable, super friendly, spoke English perfectly and just blended with our family. We loved spending time with her so much that we invited her to have family dinners with us each night. She went out of her way to get us tables in restaurants when we had no reservations and even helped us with the police when my husband lost his passport.
She just went above and beyond what was required of her as a guide. Thank you, Angela.
One of the additions to our Machu Picchu tour was traveling into the mountains and spending an afternoon with a farming family at their home. They greeted us with music and dancing and treated us to an authentic meal, which was huge and so delicious. We left there with hugs and kisses and wonderful memories.
Again, we highly recommend Adios travel for any of your tour needs. You will not be disappointed.

This was the second time that we have booked trips to Peru with Adios Adventure Travel and once again all went exactly as planned according to our 12 day itinerary. No issues whatsoever from our initial contact and trip planning with Jacquie and Heather to our pick up and drop off at Cusco Airport at trip’s end with Vidal. While in Cusco we were booked into the Palacio del Inka hotel where we were well taken care of. I can tell you that the price is money well spent. The food, customer service and rooms were 5stars. If you are experiencing altitude sickness they will immediately bring and administer oxygen to you in your room at no charge (be sure to tip generously however) Vidal once again did an exceptional job of making sure all of our wants and needs were addressed as well as passionately sharing his experiences and knowledge of everything Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.

The 2nd half of our trip was spent in the rainforest at the lodge at Tambopata Research Center which is on the Tambopata River. We flew from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado which is in the Madre de Dios Region of Peru. Spending several days (and nights) at TRC was life changing and I plan to return a 3rd time just because. Adios Adventure Travel was able to book us in ’the best room ever’ at TRC as well as our previous guide, Fernando. Fernando was born and raised in Puerto Maldonado area, and just as with Vidal in the first portion of the trip, we saw the amazing rainforest with all its wonders through his eyes. As I stated before- life changing. Thank you Vidal, Jacquie & Heather.

Suggestion: If you plan on visiting the rainforest you should go there at the beginning of the trip and then do the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco to help you to gradually adjust to the high altitude. Altitude sickness is real and it doesn’t care how old you are or your fitness level. Just saying…

My wife and I spent our last day (10/9/24) in Peru in the Miraflores section of Lima. We also visited Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) and Cusco. The Adios Adventure Travel blog was instrumental in my planning and even more helpful was my conversation with Jacqui Whitt.

I booked 2 Cusco tours with Adios Travel: 1 - The Full Day Pisac Archaeological Park + Pachamanca Feast (lunch and weaving demonstration at a family owned farm); 2 - The Cusco Historical Outskirts Hike (Tambomachay - Qenco - Sacsayhuaman). Each tour included our private guide, Hubert and a driver. They picked us up from our hotel each day. Hubert was awesome! He was a very clear communicator and very knowledgeable about the sites and Inca history in general. He moved at our pace and gave the right amount of information in a conversation instead of a long drawn-out presentation.

Lastly, Adios provided us with a pre-departure information summary that included all of our flights, trains, hotels, tours and recommendations for activities/ restaurants in each location. These recommendations were not affiliated with Adios, just great information! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ADIOS ADVENTURE TRAVEL I've told family, friends and acquaintances to use Adios for any trip to South America

Adios Adventure Travel were terrific to work with and they were completely accomodating and receptive to the complications of modern travel. I highly recommend the US based team and the local domestic team to handle travel plans in Peru.
