Why do Machu Picchu tickets for entry in November and December 2026 look sold out? There's more to this story.

A Peru government audit uncovered at least 8 companies who were using bots or other software tools to block over 200,000 tickets that should have been for sale on the official government website.

Although regular entry tickets to Machu Picchu are scarce in November and December, a 2-day trip built on Inca Trail permits is a different product. And an amazing experience.

Here's the offer: a 2-day trip where your group can choose to hike the short 8 mile Inca Trail, or tour the Sacred Valley by van, then overnight in a hotel in Aguas Calientes, and explore Machu Picchu circuit 3B with a private Adios guide.

Why it works: 2-day Inca Trail hiking permits include entry to Machu Picchu circuit 3B. Licensed operators book permits on the official operator portal. If you have a group, you can split up. Some can hike, and some can take the  train.  Hikers and non-hikers travel on the same dates and visit Machu Picchu together on day 2.

Day 1 — choose your style

• Hike: Early pickup, train to Km 104, short Inca Trail (Chachabamba, Wiñay Wayna, Sun Gate), upper terraces, bus down to Aguas Calientes.
• Van / train: Sacred Valley - Chinchero - Moray - Maras by van, then train to Aguas Calientes. Same overnight. No trail required.
• For groups of 6 or more: split up to hike or go by train. Meet for dinner on Day 1, then go to Machu Picchu together on Day 2. 

Night 1: Hotel in Aguas Calientes. Evening in the village. Rest.

Day 2: Tour Guide meets you at the hotel. Shuttle up. Guided visit of Machu Picchu on circuit 3. Return tow Cusco by train and van.

What you need to know:

• We are not selling entry tickets to Machu Picchu
• We do not have a stash of "inventory" for entry tickets. (No one is allowed to buy entry tickets to Machu Picchu in advance and save them) 
• Availability changes day to day and we confirm permits before you pay anything
• Permits cannot be cancelled, refunded, transferred or banked for future use once purchased.
