Mario Huaman Huaman
Trail Chef
The son of Florentino Huaman, who still works as a porter on the Inca Trail. We are a hard-working family from the Patacancha community in Ollantaytambo. I am one of nine children. Like most families in the Andes, you learn from your parents While helping my dad as a horseman at the young age of 13, I became the leader of my family and also a porter. After working for different companies for 10 years, I became a cook. For the last 15 years, my family and I have been helping Adios Adventure Travel on their treks and other activities, always providing amazing meals in the middle of the nowhere. When you are on the hikes you need to work with your team, and that is where you learn how to handle and prepare the food for the travelers who come on the hikes. Sometimes I am accompanied by one of my brothers: Cesar, Fermin, and Abraham. We look forward to meeting you.
