Peru has done it again. For the 6th year in a row, this little "developing country that could" has topped the list of leading culinary destinations at the World Travel Awards (WTA). By an online voting process, people from around the world selected Peru for the best culinary hospitality in addition to Machu Picchu, chosen as the world's leading tourist attraction.

In the world of tourism, it doesn't get any better than this. With Machu Picchu being on the bucket list for most travelers, and everyone who travels being an eater, visitors can chow down on the best food in the world.  Three Peruvian restaurants in Lima landed on the list of the "World's 50 Best Restaurants."

Peruvian gastronomy is well-known among elite travelers, and now everyone can experience the traditional foods of native Andean communities, including roasted guinea pig, hands-on cooking classes and home-made chicha beer.  Not to mention world-class restaurants.

We visited the renowned MiIL restaurant in the Sacred Valley and here's a link to our review.

Check out our 6-day Peru culinary vacation which includes visits to native communities as well as opportunities to dine in top restaurants.

There's a picnic with fruit tastings, Pachamanca meal prepared in an "earth oven," and opportunities to sample the best dishes of the Andes Mountains. This is your chance to sample the real food of Peru.
