Cusco Culture & Amazon Jungle
7 Days/$1295 pp

Updated: Sep 13, 2013

Cusco culture meets unspoiled jungle.  See the best of both worlds. From Lima, it's a short flight to Puerto Maldonado (2 hours), then 2-3 hours by motorized canoe for 4 days in the Peruvian jungle.  Enjoy guided boat trips and walks to explore flora, fauna and nature like you've never seen before. Then fly (45 min) to the Andes Mountains to stroll the cobblestone streets of Cusco, Peru.  Visit Inca temples and Colonial churches.  Explore the artisans traditional neighborhood of San Blas. Visit museums with ancient treasures. Savor the exquisite New Andean cuisine at provincial restaurants. Travel by train through impressive Andean highlands and cloud forests to the town of Aguas Calientes and then the final leg to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas.

Logisitcally, it is preferable to visit the jungle first.
