What Our Customers Say
Write a ReviewThis was the second time that we have booked trips to Peru with Adios Adventure Travel and once again all went exactly as planned according to our 12 day itinerary. No issues whatsoever from our initial contact and trip planning with Jacquie and Heather to our pick up and drop off at Cusco Airport at trip’s end with Vidal. While in Cusco we were booked into the Palacio del Inka hotel where we were well taken care of. I can tell you that the price is money well spent. The food, customer service and rooms were 5stars. If you are experiencing altitude sickness they will immediately bring and administer oxygen to you in your room at no charge (be sure to tip generously however) Vidal once again did an exceptional job of making sure all of our wants and needs were addressed as well as passionately sharing his experiences and knowledge of everything Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.
The 2nd half of our trip was spent in the rainforest at the lodge at Tambopata Research Center which is on the Tambopata River. We flew from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado which is in the Madre de Dios Region of Peru. Spending several days (and nights) at TRC was life changing and I plan to return a 3rd time just because. Adios Adventure Travel was able to book us in ’the best room ever’ at TRC as well as our previous guide, Fernando. Fernando was born and raised in Puerto Maldonado area, and just as with Vidal in the first portion of the trip, we saw the amazing rainforest with all its wonders through his eyes. As I stated before- life changing. Thank you Vidal, Jacquie & Heather.
Suggestion: If you plan on visiting the rainforest you should go there at the beginning of the trip and then do the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco to help you to gradually adjust to the high altitude. Altitude sickness is real and it doesn’t care how old you are or your fitness level. Just saying…
My wife and I spent our last day (10/9/24) in Peru in the Miraflores section of Lima. We also visited Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) and Cusco. The Adios Adventure Travel blog was instrumental in my planning and even more helpful was my conversation with Jacqui Whitt.
I booked 2 Cusco tours with Adios Travel: 1 - The Full Day Pisac Archaeological Park + Pachamanca Feast (lunch and weaving demonstration at a family owned farm); 2 - The Cusco Historical Outskirts Hike (Tambomachay - Qenco - Sacsayhuaman). Each tour included our private guide, Hubert and a driver. They picked us up from our hotel each day. Hubert was awesome! He was a very clear communicator and very knowledgeable about the sites and Inca history in general. He moved at our pace and gave the right amount of information in a conversation instead of a long drawn-out presentation.
Lastly, Adios provided us with a pre-departure information summary that included all of our flights, trains, hotels, tours and recommendations for activities/ restaurants in each location. These recommendations were not affiliated with Adios, just great information! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ADIOS ADVENTURE TRAVEL I've told family, friends and acquaintances to use Adios for any trip to South America
Adios Adventure Travel were terrific to work with and they were completely accomodating and receptive to the complications of modern travel. I highly recommend the US based team and the local domestic team to handle travel plans in Peru.
I recently had the most incredible 7-day private tour with Adios Adventure Travel to the Amazon, Cusco, and Machu Picchu. Heather was fantastic in planning the trip; she was responsive, answered all my questions, and guided me through every detail with patience.
My stay at the Tambopata Eco-Lodge in the Amazon was wonderful. My guide, Magno, was patient and kind, going above and beyond to ensure I saw as many animals as possible. He took the time to share detailed information about each animal and plant we encountered, as well as insights about the native tribes.
In Cusco and Machu Picchu, I had the pleasure of touring with Vidal, who was thoughtful and welcoming from the start. He is a wealth of knowledge about Peruvian culture and history and shared fascinating stories. Vidal tailored the trip to my interests, including a visit to Chinchero, where I could learn about and watch traditional weaving. He also recommended excellent restaurants and local dishes to try. His calming presence, kindness, and expertise made the experience special.
I am so happy I chose to travel with Adios Adventure Travel and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a personalized and beautiful journey through Peru!
Everyone at Adios Adventures made our trip extraordinary! It was our first time traveling abroad so we were nervous. We were picked up at the airport and taken to our Airbnb. We were picked up and taken to amazing places in Peru. We formed relationships with our drivers and guides. Everyone bent over backwards to make our trip extra special. I would choose them every single time we go to Peru. We are telling family and friends to go to Peru not just because of the amazing points of interest but to also be spoiled by Vidal and everyone at Adios Adventures. Thank you just isn't enough!!
