Travel the ancient path of the Sun between three cities of the southern region of Peru: Lima, Cusco and Puno, capital of the Tawantinsuyo Empire. Travel to Puno on the Lake Titicaca shores and visit the Floating Reed Islands of the Uros. Charming local families on Takile Island prepare lunch worthy of comparison with the most well-known restaurants in the world.  Learn about traditional Andean customs and daily activities. Explore impressive archaeological ruins, including Pisaq and Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, with a final grand tour of Machu Picchu, the amazing Lost City of the Incas.

Day 1
Arrival in Lima, Peru. 
We arrange your transfer to the hotel for one night.

Day 2
Lima - Juliaca - Puno:
Transfer to the airport in Lima for short flight to Juliaca.  We take you to the hotel in Puno as you acclimatize to the altitude (12,500 ft) and explore the city on the shores of Titicaca Lake.  Dinner in the restaurant of your choice.

Day 3
Puno - Islands - Puno:
After an early breakfast, we board 20 passenger motored tourist boat to the Floating Reed Islands of Uros and the charming Taquile Islands for lunch. Return to Puno for overnight in hotel.

Day 4
Puno - Cusco:
Travel by bus following the Route of the Sun. The roadway rambles through the countryside with stops to explore the Pukara Museum, Raqchi and Andahuaylillas. Includes a stop for lunch offering a buffet of tempting Peruvian cuisine. 5 PM: Arrival and overnight in Cusco.

Day 5
Cusco:
Explore the city on a guided, walking tour to La Plaza de las Armas and Korikancha museum. In the afternoon, you'll enjoy escorted and guided tours to the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park, Qenqo, Pukapukara and Tambomachay.  (L,D in restaurants)

Day 6
Sacred Valley of the Incas:
Full day excursion to explore Andean culture with stops in ancestral weavers' village of Chinchero, the Inca sites of Maras & Moray & arrive in the historical town of Ollantaytambo for dinner in the restaurant of your choice and overnight.

Day 7
Cusco - Aguas Calientes:
After an early breakfast, we board the train to Aguas Calientes for a four hour ride through changing landscapes with seductive vistas. Free afternoon to shop or explore the "city without vehicles." Optional visit for a dip in the hot springs. (L, D in restaurants)

Day 8
Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco:
After breakfast, the early morning bus takes us up to an astonishing sunrise over the Inca fortress of Machu Picchu.  After your private, guided tour of the ruins, our bus returns to Aguas Calientes where we board the train for the return trip to Cusco. (L,D in restaurants)

Day 9
Cusco - Lima:
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Conclusion of our services.
